Project Life Monday ~ Week 4

I have still not completed my Week 2 or Week 3 layouts, however in the interest of staying on top of my Project Life album I am moving forward to Week 4. As I finish up Week 2 and Week 3 I will share them with you.

We had a fairly laid back week this week, but there were some very interesting things that happened...

Full spread with 3 inserts...

As this is the only album I do for our family throughout the year, I tend to add lots of inserts for the pictures that I just had to print but didn't have enough space for in the small 4x6 space. This week I also experimented with Walgreens option to create collage prints. I like how these turned out, however in the future I will do them myself with Gimp.

Right side...

*"Hello" Card is from the new Recollections journaling cards at Michaels.

Fronts of inserts...

Backs of inserts...

Insert 1 is a 6x12 page protector. I love using these when I have one random portrait photo because it allows me to get a few more photos in, along with the ability to be more creative with my inserts. Insert 2 has the extra photos from Wednesday and Saturday, and Insert 3 is my Move More Eat Well weekly insert.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my pages! I hope you enjoyed them, we certainly did!

Here is my Project Life for this Month:

Our theme for this month is "finding what works". I'll be honest, I'm still trying to figure this one out for myself. Since my Project Life weeks run Sunday through Saturday, I'm a little Type A and need it to be related to my calendar, I have been trying to print my pictures for the week on Saturday nights after my boys are in bed. I then pick up the photos on Sunday, I would like for this to be on the way home from running our errands, however lately Walgreens and I have not been on the same page and I haven't been able to pick up my photos until later in the afternoon. On Sundays, I would like to be putting together my Project Life from the week before and then photographing and posting it on my blog on Mondays. This worked during Week 1, however Week 2 is still in shambles on my desk and Week 3 has 2 inserts that need to be completed. I'm slowly working out what is going to work for me this year, and will be sharing them periodically on my blog.

I've decided to share my main layouts for Week 1 and Week 3 with you today. Enjoy!

Washi Wednesday

Welcome to Washi Wednesday! Every Wednesday, I hope to share a project using washi tape. I have recently fallen in love with this adorable, and versatile tape, and I may have an addiction now... So here is my way of using it, instead of hoarding it in my scrapbook stash!

I'd like to thank Pinterest for this idea. I used an old magnet from some junk mail and cut it into 3 "evenish" pieces. Then I used different purple washi tapes from my stash to cover them. Then I place a recycling sticker on each, and viola reusable recycling reminder magnets!

You see, my mom has been eyeing up these recycling stickers we get from our city every year so that we can remember when our recycling has to go out to the curb. Their recycling system just changed, and she was trying to figure out how she was going to mark that on her calendar so she could remember to put out their recycling. So I thought I would do these magnets and then she could have them to use, especially since I usually have some stickers left over after I put ours on the calendar. She loves them.

I think these took me 10 minutes to create! They were super easy and turned out great.

Twin Talk Tuesdays

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a toddler tip for you. The worst part of potty training might be when the Pull-up/underwear leak on the furniture while your toddler is playing or relaxing. What is the best way to clean it up? Baking soda and vinegar!

Directions:
1. Dump enough baking soda to cover the area
2. Allow it to clump up and dry (usually about 15 minutes)
3. Vacuum up the area
4. Dampen a cloth with vinegar and wipe the area (do NOT saturate) and allow to dry

For those underwear, or clothes, that are wet with pee; add a Tablespoon of vinegar with your regular laundry soap to the laundry load. The vinegar takes out the urine smell, without leaving the smell of vinegar behind.

Enjoy!

Project Life Monday

Welcome back!

First, I thought I would share my renewed plan for my 2013 "Project Life" album for my family. I have been spending the past few weeks cleaning and organizing my craft space, really it is a small closet in our house that did not have a defined purpose until this past summer. I have a TON of scrapbooking stuff and a small space, so I need to downsize a bit. Thus, I will not be purchasing a Becky Higgins Core Kit this year; I will be working with items already in my stash! Plus, I have found so many great freebies that I would love to use.

That being said, here is my cover page! I used the SN@P printables and the 2013 Printables from MissTiina.

Week 1: For January, I am using the DCWV Paper Collection Arctic Wishes. I have recently learned how to heat emboss. If you haven't tried it, find some time to learn because it looks awesome.

Week 1 Layout with 3 inserts
This layout has 3 inserts! Insert 1 is from January 2 and 3. I cut down a Design A page protector and placed a photo of the gas price from last week, along with two photos, and journaling, from the dinner I made for our 4 year anniversary!

Insert 2 is from Saturday's Packers vs. Vikings playoff game. I cut down a Design B page protector and included a picture of my boys in their Packer clothes, some journaling, a picture of my dad's Packer Potato and the final score of the game.

Insert 3 is from my wellness journey. I am participating in Cathy Zielske's Move More Eat Well 2.0 Class at Big Picture Classes. I am including how many steps I took each day during the week, images from my iPod for my walking workouts, and how I have moved more and eaten well during the week.

Here is my left page for the week...

Enjoy!

Week 1...Preparations

I've begun my preparations for my 2013 Project Life album! Yay! My title page is started, I've printed my photos for this week, and I'm still waiting for the release of the Seafoam Kit on Amazon. It is supposed to be next week, so I'll have to keep waiting to really get started.

Here is my plan going forward. I will print my photos for the week on Saturday nights, in order to pick them up on our way home from the grocery store on Sundays. I will spend Sunday putting together the previous week's layout, in each of my 3 albums. Mondays, you can view my weekly spread on my blog! On the flip side, I do have other albums to finish up, so I'll be slowly working on those when I have time.

There are a few exciting things you can look forward to in my Project Life story this year. The first is "Currently"...

I have also decided to participate in Cathy Zielske's Move More, Eat Well 2.0 on Big Picture Classes. Each week, I will be including information about my workouts, step counts, goals, and what I did to work towards moving more and eating well.

I hope you will join me this year, as I embark on Project Life, catching up, and being a healthier person!

Welcome!

Happy New Year!

I will be dedicating this blog to sharing my Project Life 2013 journey, my healthy living goals, catching up on scrapbooking (I have nearly 4 years to finish up, at least to start with), and sharing some helpful advice from raising twin toddlers. I hope you join me on this exciting journey!
